This advice is intended for all horses – from leisure horses to older or hardy breeds – and focuses on setting up a balanced, sustainable feeding plan that supports health and vitality. General nutritional advice works preventively and in maintenance, as the daily ration is optimally tailored to your horse’s individual needs. Simple and feasible practical tips help improve the feeding and management system. Your horse receives expert advice tailored to its unique needs, considering both nutrition and living environment, to ensure it stays in top condition for longer. The result is a healthy, balanced nutrition plan that supports your horse’s well-being – perfect for owners who want to feed simply yet effectively.
This advice is aimed at horses with specific health issues such as colic, gastric ulcers, muscular or metabolic problems. The goal is to address the root cause of the complaints and improve health. Clinical nutritional advice provides a thorough assessment of the current ration and management conditions, linked to medical insights. The adjustments in the ration are aimed at directly addressing the diagnosed issues and complaints. In addition, clinical nutritional advice not only works towards recovery but also towards prevention to avoid recurrence. The result is a personal, scientifically supported plan that helps you tackle (recurring) problems and improve and safeguard your horse’s health.
This advice is specifically designed for all horses that need to deliver peak performance. It focuses on improving energy supply, muscle recovery and development to optimize overall performance. Performance-focused nutritional advice targets energy and endurance by optimizing energy input and output so your horse performs at its best during training and competition. The specific adjustments are closely aligned with the training load, taking into account the discipline (such as dressage, jumping or eventing). The custom-developed feeding strategy is also geared towards rapid recovery after intense exertion. The result is a tailor-made feeding plan that supports sustained peak performance and recovery for your horse.
Are you looking for an equine nutritionist without sales pitches or commercial interests? Welcome to Equi Nutri Care!
My name is Mira, a certified equine nutritionist and the driving force behind Equi Nutri Care. I work from one core belief: The horse is central, not the sale
With nearly 10 years of experience, I help owners, trainers, and breeders feed their horses optimally – with astonishing results.
At Equi Nutri Care, everything revolves around ‘Feeding Horses as Nature IntendedI firmly believe that horses perform best when their diet is tailored to their natural needs and behavior.
In the wild, horses benefit from a wide variety of grasses, herbs, and plants that provide a balanced mix of nutrients. Modern feeding methods, which rely heavily on processed feeds and synthetic additives, deviate significantly from this natural pattern. This can lead to various health issues and compromise your horse’s well-being.
I am determined to bridge this gap and restore harmony between the horse and its natural feeding pattern. My feeding plans prioritize high-quality roughage and only supplement when necessary. By following natural traditions, I aim for improved digestion, which supports immunity, maintains a healthy weight, and optimizes performance.

Not tied to any manufacturers or brands of horse feed, ensuring objective nutritional advice where the horse’s welfare always comes first. Equi Nutri Care is free to recommend the feed that best suits the horse, rather than focusing on selling products from its own range. The result is honest and competent advice you can trust.
In recent years, science has invested significantly in research on the metabolism and nutritional needs of horses. There is also much focus on feeds, the effects of feeds and nutrients, and the implications of current challenges such as climate and environment. Equi Nutri Care provides advice based on the latest insights and prescribed best practices.
Equi Nutri Care is convinced that every horse owner and caretaker acts to the best of their ability and with the best intentions, supported by their own knowledge, insight, and experience. Not everyone has access to the same resources or follows the same convictions. Nevertheless, we believe that all horses deserve the best possible feeding management. And that is what we strive for. Together with the horse owner and/or caretaker.
You are not alone. Many horses suffer from discomforts that can be traced back to nutrition and management.
Take this Friesian gelding who was separated from his mother at just six weeks old for unknown reasons. This doesn’t have to be a problem if the foal receives sufficient nutritional support to strengthen its immune system and promote overall development. Unfortunately, this was not the case for him.
As a yearling, he contracted a life-threatening liver fluke infection. His young, growing body needed all the energy to survive and recover. This weakened him so much that he stopped growing.
After recovery, at the age of 20 months, his diet was adjusted with a focus on a liver-friendly regimen to support and promote liver healing. At the same time, I had to ensure he received the nutrients and building blocks to strengthen his immune system and stimulate growth.
He is now a strong Friesian gelding with a withers height of 168 cm.
That’s what independent advice can do.
