I don't kick off the year with a resolution. I kick it off with a promise. To myself. And to you – at least if you believe things can be different.
I am not going to say that everyone means well.
I am not going to placate the idea that there are ‘so many opinions’.
I will no longer use nuance as an excuse to avoid the conversation.
I am Mira. And I am not here to prove people right.
I am here to name things that matter.
For horses. For people who truly want to understand.
And for everyone tired of half-truths packaged as good advice.
We already have enough shouting.
We have had enough of “everyone is entitled to their opinion”.
What we lack are people who say:
“This is what I stand for. This is what I base it on. And this is what it delivers — for the horse.”
Not for those seeking validation.
But for those who want the truth, even when it chafes.
For those who dare to adjust themselves.
For those who care more about the horse than being right.
Not “their own fault”, but: “personal choice to take responsibility.”
Do not wait until something gets worse.
Stop repeating what once worked.
Do not remain dependent on protocols, or blindly trust that things will get better again.
But thinking. Looking. Consulting. Collaborating.
With your vet.
With your specialist.
Whoever you bring in — as long as they are willing to keep searching for what is right for that single horse.
So that we don't fill the new year with vague intentions,
but with targeted choices.
For horses that are not only fed,
but also understood.
Not only well-groomed,
but also supported.
Not only kept,
but really though.
And you?
I am that woman who constantly loses her glasses, forgets her keys, never finds her phone. But my opinion? I always have it ready.
Half wolf, half woman - literally in my Facebook profile picture, figuratively in everything I do. I am someone of extremes. Intuitive and astute. Calm and storm. Silence and voice. Soft to what is vulnerable. Tough on what deliberately damages. I am not a perfect version of myself. An honest one, though.
I work with people, systems, food, chaos and vision. Sometimes with horses, often with principles. I believe in truth over diplomacy, and in nuance without wooliness.
